Closed Circuit Television
is basically a TV system that does not have an open signal, the video
generated remains private and only defined users have access to it,
being it’s main purpose the surveillance. Currently the technological
development to record images (compact) along with the increasing
delinquency, are pushing faster the growth of this market and price
reduction. Nowadays CCTV systems are affordable for any organization and
their applications are unlimited. CCTV digitalization was the trend in
last five years and now image flow through IP or IN are the vanguard
trends.
The must common usage of CCTV is on surveillance
and security, for retail and department stores, manufacturing plants,
corporate and public buildings, banks, airports, etc. Their applications
goes from monitoring human traffic control and industrial processes,
through analyzing employees behavior and face biometric scanning to
detect must wanted criminals. Every CCTV system has to be complemented
with recording to preserve evidence and not depend only on the monitor
responsible alone.
Basic CCTV elements are: Camera, Monitor, Cable and Recorder. The camera
is the point of video generation, having fixed black and white cameras
through IP PTZ camera with night vision. Normally cameras come without
lenses, being their election dependent of the type of solution required,
for which the focus and iris are basic specifications. The monitor is
basically the receiver of the image gotten by the camera; on it`s more
typical form, the monitor is connected to the camera through a coaxial
wire with the energy supply. Video recording is the third main component
of CCTV equation, being it’s main functionality principle to record for
at least 24hrs, doing it on lapses and not continuously. Nowadays,
digital video recorders lead the global trend allowing data compacting
and efficient data warehousing, as well as easy transmission through
electronic media and quick searches with immediate printing.
